Due to the different origins of waste and various industrial technologies and processes for material preparation, recyclates are subject to fluctuations, i.e., the material properties are not constant and can only be predicted with difficulty. To investigate the properties of recycled plastics in granulate form (e.g., proportion of foreign matter), various methods exist, but no established standard specifications exist against which processing and usage properties can be inferred.
